Thomas is our newest member. He will further introduce himself, and will be talking about “Repairing Broken Hearts”. Rotary had helped enabling his PhD and Postdoctoral project at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology through a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. Thomas and his team developed human heart-like tissue from scratch - fully outside of a human body – using human embryonic stem cells (very first cells in life) and tissue engineering technologies. These tissue engineering strategies are promising for potential treatment of currently incurable diseases such as heart attacks.
Our evening meetings start at 7.30pm for dinner at "Trattoria Dopo Teatro "near Time Square. (125W 44th street) Click for details.
