Please join us as we welcome Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, Joan Young, for a presentation on the collecting history and current practices of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
Young's presentation will include information about the Museum's international locations, exhibitions schedule, and a behind-the-scenes look at how the Guggenheim's mission is achieved through public programs, education, and the support of its patrons.

Joan Young has organized exhibitions by Hugo Boss Prize winners Tacita Dean, Emily Jacir, and Rirkrit Tiravanija for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and curated Phoebe Washburn: Regulated Fool’s Milk Meadow and Julie Mehretu: Gray Area for Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin.

She has also provided curatorial support for the exhibitions Robert Rauschenberg: A Retrospective; The Hugo Boss Prize 1998; Andreas Slominski; Postmedia: Conceptual Photography in the Guggenheim Museum Collection; Lawrence Weiner: NACH ALLES/AFTER ALL; Matthew Barney: The Cremaster Cycle; Moving Pictures: Contemporary Photography and Video from the Guggenheim Museum Collections; Singular Forms (Sometimes Repeated): Art from 1951 to the Present; Douglas Gordon’s The VANITY of Allegory; Marina Abramović: Seven Easy Pieces; and All in the present must be transformed: Matthew Barney and Joseph Beuys; theanyspacewhatever; and Intervals: Kitty Kraus.
